We left Qualicum Beach and headed out across Vancouver Island to Port Alberni and on towards Tolfino and the Pacific Rim Natonal Park. These almost surreal photos are at Kennedy Lake along the way
At the other side of the island, after a very scenic drive, we reached the National Park Centre. After seeing what they had on offer, we drove to the town of Ucluelet.
At Ucluelet, above, we had a walk to the lighthouse, and enjoyed lunch sitting on this bench looking out to sea.
Wick Beach had an "interactive" parks centre, with an intersting "driftwood" building, but fairly non-descript exhibits. Bad news was that we got a puncture here. A 3 inch nail was embedded in a tyre, the spare did not fit properly, and I had to get the car back to Ucluelet to be sorted.
Tolfino was a very scenic town with a protected harbour. The towns oldest tree had been jacked up with stays.
And back to Qualicum Beach and another sunset from our balcony.
