Sept 9 Zodiac cruise at DeSallis Bay on Banks Island

We went out for a zodiac cruise at 8 am into DeSallis Bay on Banks Island. There had been a sighting of musk oxen and polar bear from the scouting party. It was very choppy and only the fittest were encouraged to take the cruise. Then it was 15 minutes to the shoreline and eventually a group of musk ox were sighted as tiny specks on the skyline and also a mother polar bear with two cubs but these were only seen occasionally by our zodiac driver, Werner, when the zodiac was at the top of a wave. We never saw any bears here

We were back on board before 11 and Chris went for a swim. After lunch Chris played Bridge for 90 minutes and then read in the cabin before a very light tea. At 5 pm there was lecture on the music created for ice planet , a David Attenborough production: this was quite interesting . Instead of a recap and briefing there was a Flotel experience, which we thought would be interesting but it turned out to mainly be a Chloe self promotion. Seven members of the hotel team were asked questions formulated by Royal Caribbean or Chloe, which told us little about the problems behind scenes and then four members of the audience were allowed to ask questions but none of these were interesting.

After dinner we went to the Doce Vita for a coffee, given that Chloe had bingo in the panorama lounge. But we did not actually get any coffee as the waiter there was busy chatting to another couple for at least 10 minutes and seemed undisturbed by the fact that he had ignored us.
