Chadlington Manor

We then bought Chadlington Manor, near Chipping Norton. Again restored it and opened very sucessfully, winning all sorts of awards. However we were soon hit by Mrs Thatcher's recession, and were heavily exposed to high interest rates as we had borrowed in order to restore the building. And with falling property prices, this was not a fun time to be in the hotel business

We ended up faghting battles on many fronts

In the end we sold the cottage we had in the grounds, dispensed with all staff , and after much delay managed to sell
