A unique journey through the Nubian lands of Sudan to Egypt and cruise the Nile to Cairo on a ‘Pyramids to Pyramids’ adventure

Day 1 Fly Heathrow to Khartoum via Cairo.

Day 2 Early morning transfer to the central 5-star Corinthia Hotel for overnight. Visit the Archaeological Museum housing two temples rescued by UNESCO from Lake Nasser. Visit the Khalifa’s House, Mahdi’s Tomb and Omdurman souk. (B, L)

Day 3 Visit the Apedemak temple at Naga (4 hrs) with its bas-relief images, the “kiosk” with Egyptian, Roman and Greek styles and a temple to Amon. Picnic in the Musawwarat area. Overnight at the 3-star Meroe tented camp in view of the pyramids of the Royal Necropolis. (B, L, D)

Day 4 Visit the impressive Royal Necropolis. Enter the Bayuda Desert, bounded by the 4th and 6th Cataract of the Nile. Visit an excavated tomb carved from the rock below the pyramid and the Pyramids of Nuri. Two nights at the 3-star Nubian Rest House in Karima. (B, L, D)

Day 5 Visit Jebel Barkal and the temple dedicated to Amon. Visit El Kurru, where the Royal Necropolis of ancient Napata had many pyramids. Local music and dancing. (B, L, D)

Day 6 Visit the site of Old Dongola and a Nubian village. Drive across the Nubian Desert (5 hrs) to the village of Tombos and visit the stelae by the Nile. Two nights in a pre-set camp. (B, L, D)

Day 7 Visit the town of Kerma and the ‘Western Deffufa’ monument and the Kerma Museum. By small boat cross the Nile and visit the Temple of Soleb. (B, L, D)
