For reasons that were not clear, the Silver Wind was refueled during the night from a barge. This was carried out offshore, and not near any habitation. We have no idea why here, perhaps a very low price. But the operation took about 6 hours to accomplish.

Final breakfast in dining room. The Boyzz said goodbye to Paul, the waiter, and the Maitre D'

Lecture by Mila and women explorers in Alaska at 9:30. Then we returned our boots down on deck three before the showing of Pedro‘s film and photo awards and auctioning of an illustrated chart of the voyage by Alin, which fetched $4500 for the crew fund and was bought by Mr Roberts whom we had dined with earlier in the voyage. .

The expedition video was the best we had seen in that Jess gave a marvelous, audio which was a poetic description of the journey rather than the usual videos just accompanied by music which normally bore and are no connection to the journey we had actually done.

After lunch at 2 pm I played Bridge for an hour before a special passage meeting in the panorama lounge, this having been moved from the pool deck due to the inclement weather The captain presented his account of the voyage. Then a curacao and vodka and prosecco drink was served This wasn’t a normal event and showed that the captain was trying very hard to make the voyage a success.

After this we had nothing but frustration as we had found before lunch that the two zips on our suitcase but both broken, whereas they had been fine when we had unpacked and before the ship had cleaned them. We asked both the room attendant and reception immediately after lunch for some duct tape to try to seal the suitcase. This eventually arrived after 6 pm also the laundry which usually came back to the cabin soon after four had to be asked for and did not arrive till almost 630 and then some of it was still damp, so we could not finish the small suitcase packing until after dinner.

Then twice during the day David was bugged by the financial department who were unable, or un willing to take the $11 that we owed off his Debit card and insisted on taking $100 and returning the outstanding $89 sometime in the near or distant future

Chris had little appetite at dinner. We managed to get the small suitcase outside the door before the 1030 deadline. Then collapsed into bed as we had a 6 am start tomorrow
